چکیده

Cochinmicins I, II, III are novel peptolides produced in submerged-fermentation cultures of Microbispora sp. ATCC 55140. These closely related compounds are separated by HPLC and are novel competitive endothelin antagonists. Cochinmicins II and III are stereoisomeric to each other. Cochinmicin I is the deschloro analog of cochinmicin III.

Novel spirodihydrobenzofuranlactams as antagonists of endothelin and as inhibitors of HIV-1 protease produced by Stachybotrys Sp. I. Fermentation, isolation and biological activity.

Six novel spirodihydrobenzofuranlactams I - VI (1 - 6) and a related spirodihydrobenzofuranalcohol, the previously described natural compound L-671,776 (7), were isolated from cultures of two different Stachybotrys species. These secondary metabolites showed antagonistic effects in the endothelin receptor binding assay and inhibited HIV-1 protease. Both biological activities are novel for L-671...

RES-701-2, -3 and -4, novel cyclic peptide endothelin antagonists, were isolated from the culture broths of Streptomyces sp. RE-701 and RE-896, RES-701s selectively inhibited the ET-1 binding to endothelin type B receptor (ETB receptor) with IC50 values ranging from 5 to 20 nM. Taxonomy of the producing strains, fermentation, isolation and biochemical properties of RES-701s are described.

RES-1149-1 and -2, novel and non-peptidic endothelin antagonists, were isolated from the cultured broth of a fungus, Aspergillus sp. RE-1 149. RES-1 149-1 and -2 selectively inhibited the ET-1 binding to endothelin type B receptor (ETB receptor) with IC50 values of 1.5pM and 20//M, respectively. Taxonomyof producing strains, fermentation, isolation, and physico-chemical properties of RES-1149-1...

Glucosylquestiomycin, a novel antibiotic from Microbispora sp. TP-A0184: fermentation, isolation, structure determination, synthesis and biological activities.

Glucosylquestiomycin, a novel N-glucopyranoside of questiomycin A, was isolated from the culture broth of Microbispora sp. TP-A0184. The absolute configuration of the sugar was determined as D-configuration by chemical synthesis. The new antibiotic showed antibacterial activity against gram-positive and -negative bacteria and yeasts and cytotoxic activity against U937 cells.
